Punk started in the 1974 as a dissonant, underground uprising opposed to mainstream popular culture music. Bands like Green Day, the Offspring, and Rancid boosted punk back in 1990. This time the mesh of lively, upfront rock with catchy popular melodies took hold on radio and MTV. Today, self-styled pop punk is the main element in the sphere of mainstream pop music. These ten music tracks are fine place to start from to learn punk pop.

1. blink-182 - Enema of the State

In blink-182's unbounded endeavour to offend all adults in the neighbourhood, this album shed light upon a model clothed as an enema nurse on the booklet. The punk pop on the record is adolescent and catchy including the monumental hit single “Aliens Exist.”

2. The Donnas - Spend the Night

Girls play punk, as well, and this album is a profuse proof of the fact. The group formed themselves after the 1st punk band Ramones with each member taking the name Donna. Download Paramore to listen to it.

3. Good Charlotte - Young and the Hopeless

A band from Maryland Good Charlotte got into the top ten of the pop album chart with this set. It's full with tales of university and difficult parents. The smashing #1 song is “Girls & Boys.”

4. Green Day - Jesus of Suburbia

Later retreating from their nineties peak of popularity, Green Day declined from live performances to put together punk rock's first opera. Although the American band was anxious about their fanclub's reaction to Jesus of Suburbia, it turned out to be a UK rock classic topping the charts and gaining an award for Best Rock Album of two thousand and four.

5. The Lemonheads - Ceiling Fan in My Spoon
